Gulf Coast Mensa covers the region of the Greater Houston area and Galveston Bay. Mensa is a not-for-profit organization whose main purpose is:
1) to identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity
2) to encourage research into the nature, characteristics, and uses of intelligence
3) to provide a stimulating intellectual and social environment for its members.

We sponsor Special Interest Groups (SIGs), speaker meetings, game nights, and other intellectual and social events. In Mensa, members can meet other stimulating members, join one of the over 150 special interest groups (SIGS), and attend local, national, and international events. Mensa encourages and supports programs for gifted children, sponsors research into the nature of intelligence and awards thousands of dollars in scholarships each year.
The event calendar reveals that we are an active group with a wide variety of ways to participate including games night, foodie events, music appreciation and gifted children's activities. At our latest "Regional Gathering" we had thought provoking speakers, tastings and other stimulating experiences... world-class live entertainment and a sophisticated scotch tasting! There are so many ways to enjoy yourself, even on a limited budget, you will wish you had joined sooner.
